#10 100% Pinoy

His parents are both Filipino immigrants from Leyte, making him a full-blooded Filipino. He was born and raised in San Bernardino, California.

Alapag's father Crispin, 62, was born in Southern Leyte and mother Aurora Olmedo, 56, is from Butuan City. They met and married in Quezon City. In 1969, his father migrated to the US, found work as an accountant, and later brought his family to settle in Upland City, about 45 minutes from Los Angeles.













#9 Basketball Inspiration

He said his greatest influence in playing basketball was his father and older brother Crispin.
Since joining the national team tryouts, Alapag says his biggest thrill was getting his uniform No. 21 his brother Crispin's number. He would've preferred No. 3, his college number, but Chris Jackson had first crack at it.















#8 Beautiful Girls in his Life

He is married to Filipina actress LJ Moreno.



On December 5, 2014, They welcome their first child together a girl named Keona Skye.
















#7 Biggest Steal of the Draft

Alapag was selected 10th overall pick in the 2003 PBA draft by the Talk 'N Text Phone Pals and was considered the "steal of the draft".




At the end of the 2003 season, he won the Rookie of the Year award by a huge margin after averaging 14.5 points, 7.02 assists and 6.54 rebounds per outing while shooting a decent clip of 35.4 percent from the three-point region













#6  Born to be a Clutch Shooter

He started playing basketball at the age of 3 and have seen some potential particulary with his shooting. When he was six, he joined leagues for eight-year-olds. He played collegiate basketball at California State University, San Bernardino, where he established himself as a clutch three-point shooter

Alapag is known for his lethal 3 pointers way beyond from the arc, excellent passing and play making ability, and an intelligent decision making in the game, especially in the last dying seconds on the clock.

He got the monicker The  Mighty Mouse because of he's small-but-terrible size that can make a big impact.

Alapag, can boasts a 40-inch vertical leap, credits to his incredible jumping ability despite the size and can practically can dunkm .As a Mighty Mouse, Alapag takes advantage of his speed and agility to break down his defender and pass it on his teammate or score by the lay-up



















#4 The Mighty Mouse and the Giant


Alapag formed a dynamic duo with slotman Asi Taulava, to lead the Phone Pals to the All-Filipino Cup Championship by beating the Coca-Cola Tigers in the finals. They had a great memories with their dynamic duo combination, it's been a long time to see a Guard-Center connection in the PBA.

In 2004, Taulava, along with teammate Jimmy Alapag, was named as the co-MVP of the All-Star Game held in Cebu City.














#3 Jersey No.3

His favorite NBA stars were Allen Iverson and John Stockton because "they're fast, athletic ; they make good decisions and can knock down the big shots." He's wearing #3 since he was in college and of course it's Iverson famous #.  Alapag says his biggest thrill was getting his uniform No. 21 his brother Crispin's number. #2 From the Bottom now Here

Alapag came over to the Philippine to play for the National team pool, he got invitation to play with Metro Basketball Association but his priority to play with the National Team and not about the money. He also has a plan to play in the PBA but he has to wait to get an approval from the DOJ which was during that time they're very strict because of the Fil-Shams. Without a PBA mother team, Alapag relies on the P500 allowance he gets for every national team practice . To save on expenses, he rooms with Sta. Lucia Realty import Lelan McDougal whose agent is also de la Rosa.



After he got drafted in the PBA, he became a dominating force in the league. He won the Rookie of the Year, Best Player of Conference, Mythical Selections and most priceless award the MVP . He also became the team captain of the National Team Gilas and brought some trophies with the team.

#1 It's time to go

After the retirement last Jan.9 , 2014, he will now assume the team manager role for the Tropang Texters and will be one of Head Coach Tab Baldwin's assistant coaches for Gilas Pilipinas.

He quoted --- "I think every player, sooner or later, has to see the end of the road. And I don't think you ever really know when that day will come… for me, the time is now. I'm very fortunate to have been with the Talk 'N Text company, franchise, and family for my career."

His jersey will be hang and retired in Feb.15 in TNT vs Ginebra games.



The Alapags plan to focus on his business  owned the LolliCakes. Some kind of lollipop but with cake instead of the usual candy on top.
