TOP 10 PBA Players who made BigTime in 2014

2014 is over and a lot of big moments  happened in the league. One of those big moment is the San Mig Coffee first ever grandslam in their franchise history and the league 3rd grandslam after 18yrs . There are also some players who also came big time and dominates the season, here are the players who made a big impact with a BANG in 2014.

#10 Greg Slaughter

He's the 1st draft pick and expectations is really high specially he's playing with a crowd favorite team, Ginebra. Slaughter did not disappoint his team and the Ginebra fans, he finished the 2014 with a Rookie of the Year and the Mythical Second team despite competing with Ian Sangalang who's with a raging San Mig Coffee for the Grandslam.

#9 Paul Lee

The Angas ng Tondo is still in good fight after a big comeback from an injury. With his team, they competes the San Mig Coffee in two Finals but fail to win any of the two because the SMC is too much to handle for their GrandSlam. Paul Lee finished his 2014 with a 2nd Mythical Team honor but the award that can not count is his leadership for ROS the reason they had 2 Finals appearance in 2014.

#8 PJ Simon

The 2013–14 PBA season was probably the best season for Simon.. Hi great performance off the bench, playing in a new career high 66 games and playing at an average of 28.4 minutes per game and scoring 13.5 points per game, he was a vital part of San Mig's Grand Slam season. Simon provided a great help in clutch game, specially his explosive shooting off the bench. Simon finished his 2014 with a 2nd Mythical Team award and a Mr Quality Minutes (PBA version of 6th Man of the Year).

#7 Mark Barroca

Barroca finally his effort payed off after waiting for a big break in his career. Barroca played like an ironman playing with 34 minutes per game in the 2013–14 PBA Philippine Cup and evolved into a clutch player down the stretch. He led the Mixers to their 11th championship by winning the 2013-14 PBA Philippine Cup, at the expense of Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. Because of his efforts, he was awarded as the PBA Press Corps-Papa John's Pizza Finals MVP.  Barroca finished his 2014 with a 1st Mythical Team award and All-Defensive team including a Heroic Final MVP in Philippine Cup.

#6 Asi Taulava

Taulava led Air21 to the quarterfinals of the 2014 Commissioner's Cup where they met the San Miguel Beermen. In a surprising upset, Air21 made their first semifinals appearance in franchise history, after beating the second-seeded Beermen with the knockout game ending in two overtimes. However, they were beaten by the eventual champions San Mig Super Coffee Mixers in their semifinals series that extended to a Game 5.He  also led his team to the quarterfinals of the 2014 Governors' Cup, where they were ousted by Rain or Shine. Taulava with his strong performances during the season also made him one of the candidates for the MVP award,  At the season's end, Taulava was given the Comeback Player of the Year award with 1st Mythical Team award.

#5 Marc Pingris

Pingris helped his team to grab the franchise first Grandslam with his Defensive expertise. With a famous hashtag #PUSO, Pingris determined to face any obstacle whoever he needs to guard with. Pingris helped not only in defense but in some crucial time he helped his team in offense in the time he needed the most. Pingris finished his 2014 with an honor of 2nd Mythical Team , All Defensive Team and Defensive Player of the Year.

#4 Ranidel De Ocampo

RDO finally blossom into a great player that he should be and 2014 probably his best career. Ranidel is one of the big instrument to get in their Governors Cup though they fail to defeat the raging SMC in the Finals he still won the Best Player of the Conference . RDO continues his good contributions in the whole 2014, his probably one of the effective big-man in the league, till he finished his 2014 with a 1st Mythical award.

#3 James Yap

Probably James Yap is under the radar in 2014 because of he had no big awards in hand in the last season. Despite of being an under achievement, his big contribution on helping the SMC to get their Grandslam with his explosive clutch shots will be considred as his big achievement. He won the Finals MVP in 2 Finals , the Commisioner and  the Governors Cup. He did not contribute that much in statistic but his leadership and his heart of a champion made the SMC achieved their Grandlslam, he'll not be called as the James the Big-Game for nothing  . Yap finishes his 2014 with Commissioner and Governors Cup Finals MVP.

#2 Jayson Castro

The Blur continues his dominance till 2014 season despite the injury he had off and on. Castro dominates his rivals with his massive offensive skillset specially his formidable The Blur drive. However his dominance in offense, still not enough to stop the SMC winning Finals campaign in Governors Cup Finals. Castro finished his 2014 with a Best Player of the Conference in Commissioner Cup Finals, 1st Mythical Award and a 2014 Scoring Champion .

#1 JunMar Fajardo

2014 is probably the Year of the Kraken... after a low start performance in 2012,  Fajardo finally get a big impact to start his 2014, wherein he dominates under the paint, averaging double-figures all throughout the 2013-14 PBA Philippine Cup conference. Fajardo had a tremendous effort to carry his team in all the conferences, even in some occasion he got injured on and off, he still able to have a big comeback to compensate. Though in all his team campaign in the 3 conferences came out short and they always fail in quarterfinals , the Kraken gigantic effort like a monster badly beaten and still raging and fighting, is remarkably to be considered as the MVP of the season. Fajardo finished 1st Mythical Team , All Defensive Team and with a rare Most Improved Player and a 2014 Season MVP.
