After NU won their 2nd championship over 60yrs in the making, a lot of MEMES circulated about
Ginebra's 6yrs of drought. I must say I'm already annoyed of these jokes because it's not funny
anymore, like in everytime there's a long come back they will associate it with Ginebra, it's
overused joke, this people should stop it and think of something NEW. Anyway, FYI.. Don't you know FedEx or Barako Bull enery  franchise never won any champ ever since they entered the PBA in 12yrs? and that's gives me an idea to do some research which teams had the worst championship drought

#1 ) Energy Food and Drinks Inc.(Linaheim Corporate Services)

FedEx Express -> Air21 Express -> Burger King Titans -> Whoppers -> Barako Bull Energy
       Drought years :
2002-2014 (12yrs) - no champ since the franchise started

FedEx or currently the Barako Bull Energy entered the PBA league with some promising
players like Gary David, Arwind Santos, De Ocampo Brothers , Ronald Tubid and Mark Pingris. In
all PBA history for staying 12yrs and counting , they hold the longest no-championship as a
franchise. The Franchise gone a lot changes from new owners and new management then team
structure and still no success ever yet to come. The closet they ever to get to finals was in
2005-2006 where they have been eliminated by Purefoods

#2) Sta. Lucia Realty & Development, Inc

                  Drought years :
1993-2001 (8yrs) - no champ since they started till 2001
                                2002-2007 (6yrs) - last champ 2001
                                2008-2010 (3yrs) - last chap 2007

The franchise started in the PBL wherein they reigned and then decided to try the bigger league -
the PBA. The team struggles to get their first ever championship not until they gave up their main-
man Jun Limpot for a younger big-man Marlou Aquino, this decision becomes fruitful to get their
first championship.

After their last championship, the team struggles again for big changes in PBA specially the
emergance of younger athletic Fil-Ams, the team kept their pride that they will limit of hiring
of Fil-Am and stay as pure locals. They fail and struggles not until they got their super fil-am
Kelly Williams which help them to have their 2nd championship with also more motivated Dennis
Espino and Marlou Aquino in the sideline.

#3) Smart Communications /  (Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc.)

Drought years :                          Pepsi Hotshots -> 7–Up Uncolas -> Pepsi Mega Bottlers  ->
Mobiline Cellulars (1990-1997) (7yrsno champ  since they started
                         Talk 'N Text Phone Pals - 1999-2003 (4yrs) last champ 1998
                        Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters - 2004-2008 (4yrs) last champ 2003

Who will remember the Pepsi / 7-Up in PBA, the most underdog or just say the  farm team in 90's. Good thing the Smart Communications venture in PBA that somehow the weakest team in PBA revive and strive for competition. After 7yrs the franchise won their first finals in Centennial Cup lead by their veterans Glen Capacio and Al Solis with the help of their super import Silas Mills and Maclory.

The franchise had remarkable and controversial era with their super fil-Tonggan Asi Taulava who dominated the league in the center position in his prime but too bad he's not enough to win a championship. Not until the phonepals found a jewel from their draft pick ,Jimmy Alapag. Jimmy Alapag and Asi Taulava became another historical center-guard duo in PBA, their ERA was prevailing and they won the 2003 All Filipino cup champion.

#4) San Miguel Corporation  (Ginebra)

                 Drought years :
                      Gordon Gins -> Tondena - > Ginebra - 1992-1997 (6yrs)   last championship 1991
                      Ginebra 2009-2014 (6yrs) last championship 2008

Ginebra went to a  roller-coaster rides forgoing to their Finals conquest. They will
dominate a few season then later after they will gone to hibernations, it's like they found a
good chemistry then suddenly something will went wrong. Their dilemna started after winning
their champ in 1991, then later a lot flaws and reshuffles happens until they found another
good rosters in 1996, the Gordon Gins Era where they ended their 6yrs drought. After the Gordon
Gins, the team struggles again, perhaps when Jawo resigned as their coach to fulfill his
political career.

A lot of new players added to rebuild the new Ginebra, players like Caguioa, Adducul, Menk
, Helterbrand, and Hatfield to strive on winning the champ. Then finally in 2004,2006 and 2008 the championship harvested thru their NEVER SAY DIE. After their last champ in 2008, they went on hibernating again and waiting for their season. Currently the roseter is heavy loaded roster with superstars including the Twin Towers Japeth and Greg but still has no success yet.

#5) Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation (SHELL Formula)

                 Drought years :
                                1985-1990 (5yrs ) - first champ
                                1993-1998,1999 -(6yrs) - last champ 1992
                                2000-2003 - (3yrs) - last champ 1999

The franchise become succesful after just they entered the PBA, in their first year
they went to Finals though they defeated by an older team the Great Taste. After this they
struggles all the way, going back and forth to finals and always fail specially the Beermen Era.

The franchise won their first ever championship after the emergance of the 2 Shell legends
Magasanoc and Paras, both of them took their team to Finals and defeated the crowd favorite
Anejo rhum.

#6)    Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines

            Drought years :
                    Coca-Cola Tigers 2004-2010 (6yrs) last champ 2003
Powerade Tigers 2010-2012 (2yrs) no champ
                   **GlobalPort 2012-2014 (2yrs) no champ

Just like some new teams in PBA, the RFM corp owned team had a nice debut in
PBA, winning their first champ in 2003 but after that they never win another one ever again. The
franchise has been sold to Globalport which is currently still struggling with their roster and
system.

#7) Asian Coatings Philippines, Inc

            Drought years :
                 Welcoat Dragons ->
Rain or Shine Elasto Painters  - 2006-2012 (6yrsno champ since the franchise started

The franchise started in PBL and had a domination in the league there after they decided to join the PBA by buying the rights and slot of Shell. The franchise had roller coaster ride on reaching the Finals, they don't have the luck to win every playoffs because they always matched to bigger team like Ginebra or the TNT. The team got the luck to acquire their super fil-am Gabe Norwood followed by young elite players like Ty Tang and Sol Mercado. The franchise won their first ever championship in PBA in 2012 by defeating the power house B-Meg with their lethal weapon Paul Lee. Currently , ROS is still a dominating stellar in PBA like in every season they have a sure slot in the playoffs even in the Finals.

#8) San Miguel Corporation (San Miguel Beermen)

              Drought years :
                  1995-1999 -(5yrs ) - last champ 1994
                  2005-2009 - (4yrs) - last champ 2004
                    Petron Blaze/ Beermen - 2011-2014 (3yrslast champ 2010

After the Beermen domination in the early 90's they went to struggle on finding their next championship. They struggles because of their players were aging and beaten by the young players, this drought finally neded in emergence of Danny Ildefonso and Danny Seigle.

In their last championship in 2010 , the team struggles again with their aging players so the management decided to trade most of their veterans. Currently the team has power house team with 2 consecutive MVPs players but yet they have no success on winning their championship.

#9) RFM Corporations

              Drought years :
                   Sunkist  Orange-> Pop Cola/ -> Swift 1996-2001 (5yrs) - last championship 1995

After having a great year of 4yrs straight years of championship with back-to-back, the Sunkist (RFM Corporation) went to limbo with 5yrs of drought. It started from their last championship in 1995, remember the elite rosters of Duremdes, Menesis and Boybits who disbanded and the team get reformatted to rebuild a new team but eventually didn't get no-success till they disbanded the team and sell to Coca Cola Tigers.

 #10) Manila Electric Company  (MERALCO)

                 Drought years :
Meralco Bolts 2010-present -(4yrs) no champ since the franchise started

Another team owned by MVP after TNT, the franchise bought from Sta. Lucia and got the rights to get the Realtors rosters however the team looks been like a farm team for their sister company TNT. In the past years since they joined the PBA the farthest way they been gone is in the QuarterFinals against the ROS

#11) San Miguel Corporation (PureFoods )

              Drought years :
                     Purefoods Carne Norte Beefies /
                       PureFoods Chunkee Giants 2003-2006 (4yrs)  - last champ 2002

The former GrandSlam champion had also a difficult year of 4yrs drought. It all started when Alvin Patrimonio the Purefoods legend has officially retired and James Yap takes over the Era. James Yap had difficult years of bringing the Purefoods to Finals not until the PureFoods Big-3 with PJ Simon , James Yap and Marc Pingris finally formed to beat the Red Bull in the Finals.

#12) Lina Group of Companies (LGC)

                 Drought years :
                      Shopinas -> Air21 ->- 2011-2013 - (3yrs) - no champ since the franchise started

Just like Air21 curse, after the franchise has bought by the new owner, the team never
had a chance to enter the Finals and win their first champ. The team was sold to NLEX Road warriors owned by  Manila North Tollways Corporation, the same rosters has been acquired from Air21.

#13) Photokina Marketing Corporation

                  Drought years :
                         RedBull Thunder 2007-2010 - (3yrs)  last champ 2006

Barako Bull entered  in the league as a darkhorse with their 2 big Fil-foreign talents
Harp and Pennisi with also their MVP W.Miller, the team dominates the league in their primal
entrance but then after their momentum gone because of new young players came in
