#13 The Benchwarmer
He did not able to accomplish anything in his tenure with Purefoods because of the team were already filled with stars likes Patrimonio, Lastimosa and Condinera.
At Purefoods, he was an immediate back-up for Patrimonio, and would share minutes could share his own set of talent to his teammates such as Glen Capacio, Isabelo Lastimosa, fellow rookie Ferdinand Pumaren and Jerry Codinera. Here, he could often lead the Ayala-based squad (likewise he later did when he was with RFM). During his tenure with the team, he won 2 titles as he was traded before the 1992 season. Only after he moved to Diet Sarsi Bottlers (Swift) where he got more playing time.
#12 MR.RFM
He became the instant main-man and the leader of the RFM franchise after the trade from Purefoods, he team up with other bruise players like Alfonso Solis , Edgar Tanuan
Enrique Reyes, Yoyoy Villamin, Bernard Fabiosa, and Rudy Distrito.
#11 The Golden Years
He got 4 PBA titles in RFM franchise alone (1992 Third Conference, 1993 Commissioner's, 1995 All-Filipino, 1995 Commissioner's) . He was the lead man
and the intagral of the 2 early championships then later in 1995 he got reinforced by young and elite players of Meneses, Duremdesa, Balingit and Boybits.
#10 The Arrival of Aerial Voyager
In the emergance of the "Aerial Voyager" Vergel Meneses in Swift, he lost his playing time again and played off the bench. Later he got traded to SMB where he started to become a role player again.#9 "THE MAN" in San Miguel
With San Miguel Beermen 1996, he rejuvenated his career and became the main-man again. He lead his SMB franchise who also had players like Michael Mustre, Alan Vito Caidic, Avelino Lim, Yves Dignadice, and Peter Naron.
With SMB he did not able to carry the team to win the Finals because the SMB were already old and some of the main-players were already for retirement while the other team were young and power house like Gordon Gins and Alaska Aces.
#8 MVP's almost in the tip of his hand
He got 4x nomination for MVP (1992,1993,1996,1997) but never won it because lack of votes and came short with stats. He fail in 1992 against Ato Agustin, 1993 against Patrimonio, 1996 against Abarrientos and his last in 1997 against Patrimonio.
#7 Worst Enemy
Alvin Patrimonio is probably his mortal enemy eversince he came to PBA.
From purefoods where he started as a Rookie and lost his playing time against Alvin till to reaching on winning the MVPs in 1993, 1992 and 1997.

In 1997 he was the #1 MVP contender followed by Marlou Aquino, however Alvin Patrimonio won it because of media votes while Asaytono leads the some stats including the Scoring leaders.#5 "THE BULL"
He got the monicker "The Bull" because of his unstoppable in offence and limitless stamina on the court. He got the enfamous commercial with Red Bull energy with the quote
'Kaya ako tinawag the Bull kasi sugod ako ng sugod"

Nelson Asaytono is #5 in all time scoring leaders just behind of Atoy Co. He also finished #14 in all time rebounding and #4 in free-throw in scoring leaders. Some of his stats goes :

Some players and media sometimes annoys him with his mischievious attitude. He also labeled by his critics as a Ball Hogger or buwaya because once he got the ball he won't hesitate to take it and never rotates the ball for the team play
#2 The Bull in BARAKO BULL
He got his last championships with Red Bull Barako as a reserved however when Mick Pennisi and DaVonn Harp were suspended in 2004 due to citizenship, he was moved to the bench and contributing some plays for the team until his retirement in November 2005.#1 The Man of Everything but not the MVP
On April 7, 2005, at the age of 38 year he finished with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting to have 12,268 points in 796 career games, eclipsing the 12,077 points of Philip Cezar, to take the fifth spot in the PBA career scoring mark. He is among the Top 5 players who have scored the most points in the PBA, and the only non-Most Valuable Player winner in that category.
Asaytono finished his career in PBA with Barako Bull in 2006, he made a lot of awards under his name such as:
