A prodigy is a young person with exceptional abilities thus in Basketball, age comes with greatness, when a player started his career in very young age his physical athleticism may come as an advantage specially as he mature over years. In PBA rules as long as you finished your college study you can enter the draft . The rules goes like
- Must be 21 years old at the day of the draft (previously 23).
- If under 21 years of age, the player must have completed four years of college.
- A college graduate or four years removed from his high school graduation.
- Must play at least one conference in the PBA D-League or for the Philippine national basketball team (either is required).
For Filipino-foreigners:
- Same requirements as locals except:
- Must play at least two conferences in the PBA D-League.
- If 27 years old or older, the player may no longer play in the PBA D-League.
- Present documentation from the Department of Justice and the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation to prove their Filipino citizenship.
